Marc is Master Beer Sommelier to the F&B Partnership.
With his origins in Bornem (half way between Brussels and Antwerp in Belgium), Marc is otherwise known as the ORIGINAL Beer Ambassador. Ooh, you are spoiling us . . .
Not only has Marc has been described as bringing 'rock and roll' to beer, but he has also been awarded some of the highest accolades in the global brewing industry! He has been given an honorary knighthood by the Chevalerie du Fourquet des Brasseurs of the Confederation of Belgian Brewers and the title of Commander in the Order of De Roze Olifant (The Pink Elephant).
Marc has influenced some of the world's finest chefs (see our showreel), encouraging them to give the same respect to their beer list as is afforded to their wine list.
Monsieur Stroobandt, together with Fiona Smith, pioneered the Colours of Beer concept within the F&B Beer Matrix.
Marc is an all-round entertainer with great expertise and experience, delivering Masterclasses to those eager to learn more about beer in a fun and entertaining way. Audiences always leave with smiles on their faces, especially after one of Marc's classic F&B-style Mexican waves!
Marc has fronted international media campaigns from Aspen, Colorado to Wiltshire (see BBC later in 2011). He has extensive experience on TV. radio and in print. Marc has also acted as a consultant on a multi-million dollar ad campaign for Stella Artois, appearing during the US Superbowl, early 2011.
