Marc on US tour  June 09

 

This years summer tour in June 09, took Marc after a succesfull Taste of Dublin to the American shores on behalf of our clients AB Inbev USA, starting with a first visit to the Aspen Food and Wine Classic all the way up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado starting with two pre-festival live radio invterviews with local KSPN-103.9 FM and KSNO-103.1 FM radio and a great tasting on top of the roof of the Aspen Daily news which was attended by many of its staff (www.aspendailynews.com/section/home/135140)

The second day was filled with meetings in preparation of a busy day joining forces with Cowboy Chef Tim Love, involving a Sattelite Media Tour (26 interviews back to back) and media lunch for 60, hosted at the renowned Hotel Jerome, Aspen's oldest and hippest hotel, where the 'Three Animals and Three beers' (a roasted goat, smoked deer and a cooked lamb with Stella Artois, Hoegaarden and Leffe blonde) was presented to coast to coast morning TV, radio plus global internet sites followed by hosting a lunch for the gathered visiting press and media to the Aspen Food and Wine Classic festival. Not an easy task as work started at 3.00 am to facilitate the live feed to TV stations across the US (see our Facebook page for pictures).:

Highlight of the festival, besides the Grand tastings in the main tent and many parties and functions, for Marc was his over subscribed tasting at the St.Regis hotel where he paired the beers with the following dishes (see our Facebook page for pictures).: 

  • Stella Artois - Tagaroshi seared tuna with soba noodle salad
  • Hoegaarden - Vegetable samosa with cilantro aioli
  • Leffe blonde - Kobe short rib slide, Old Amsterdam cheese fondue
  • Leffe blonde - Mini Colorado cherry creme brulee
Next stop was St.Louis to host a great dinner with Sauce magazine at the wonderfull Luciano's Trattoria where Marc Del Pietro chef-owner created a great an awesome menu to do some more pairing with beer:
 
  • Hoegaarden - Coriander spiced scallops salad, baby arugula, toasted almonds, pecorino cheese, orange vinaigrette
  • Stella Artois - Camomile encrusted veal pork, chanterelle mushrooms English peas and mushroom broth  
  • Leffe blonde - Hop infused panna cotta, stewed strawberries and rhubarb with a sweetened Leffe cream

Then a quick visit to the Michelob Micro brewery to sample some unique brews, followed by a unique tasting event for 125 AB InBev employees sharing the passion and knowledge of Stella Artois, Hoegaarden and Leffe blonde with some great food prepared by Sam the resident executive chef (see our Facebook page for pictures).

Straight from the tasting Marc flew to Cleveland for the last leg of his tour to work at the Cleveland Wine Festival in Voinovich Bicentennial Park located on the banks of Lake Erie in the shadow ot the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame.  To promote the festival Marc made a few TV appearances:
