Course Aim

To humour, entertain and build beer knowledge for those who think they know a lot about beer to those who don’t! Learn how to appreciate beer and learn how to taste and match beers with food. Beer is all too often the poor relation to wine and yet beer has a broader flavour range and just as good if not better in the case of some foods e.g. chocolate to match many foods.

Suitable for: Any food and drink enthusiast who is keen to experiment and enjoys new food and drink experiences

  • What is Beer?
    What and why that goes into your beer: colour, character and flavour
  • Understanding beer and seeing the beer through the beer forest
    The F&B Beer Matrix:

  • The Perfect Pour - Tools and techniques to be a pro
  • Tasting beer and food – what goes with what and the other way around
    Compare, contrast, cut and cleanse, = enhance both your food and your beer
