Aim of the course
A three day vocational beer sommelier training course to acquire and master the skills and expertise in all aspects of beer and beer service;
- including in-depth product knowledge
- serving standards
- sensory and technical evaluation
- How to taste and teach others how to taste
- principles of food pairing
- application, communication and selling
The course is aimed at giving the delegate unprecedented skills in understanding beer, the beer category, underpinning basic job skills and competencies to enable the successful candidate to have an all round expertise in beer and be able to communicate this expertise to both staff and customers alike.

Content
Day 1
Technical Product Knowledge – extensive knowledge on all aspects of the ingredients, production, packaging … and classification of beer Serving standards – mastering the skills and expertise in handling, storing and serving beer to achieve optimum beer service (ABCQ level)
Day 2
Sensory evaluation – becoming an professional taster and quality assurance assessor in view of the overall classification and category management of beers
Day 3
Principles of food pairing – understand and apply the F&B principles of Beer and Food pairing Application, communication and selling – applying all the above in communicating your knowledge and using all your beer sommelier skills and expertise for optimum beer service

Test and certificate
